Rafael dos Anjos calls out Conor McGregor following UFC Orlando win

Former UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos was expected to face Conor McGregor back in 2016 in his second title defense, but was forced out of the fight due to injury.

The two never fought when they were at the top of the 155-pound weight class, but it’s a fight that Dos Anjos still wants.

The Brazilian returned to the welterweight division on Saturday in the UFC Orlando co-main event and picked up a submission win over Bryan Barberena. During his post-fight interview, Dos Anjos called out McGregor.

“I think I have the right to call someone out,” Dos Anjos said. “I want to call out Conor McGregor.

“Seven years ago I earned this fight beating Donald Cerrone. He came up a division. We were supposed to fight. I broke my foot, but now here I am,” continued Dos Anjos. “He has a couple of months to clean his body of all the sh*t he’s taking, and I’ll see you in July.”
