UFC Signs 6’7” Cuban Olympic Giant

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has added a mega prospect to their roster.

Earlier today (Sun., Dec. 3, 2023), Robelis Despaigne dispatched fellow Heavyweight prospect Miles Banks in five seconds at Fury Fighting Championship 84 in Houston, Texas, and minutes after the win, it was announced on the broadcast that Despaigne has signed to the UFC per Mick Maynard, UFC matchmaker.

Check out the knockout below:

Despaigne, 35, is 4-0 with four first-round knockouts, and his last three fights have lasted a combined 19 seconds. Two of those knockouts were three seconds (watch highlights) and five seconds.

“Bad Boy” is a Cuban taekwondo practitioner who captured a bronze medal in the 2012 Summer Olympics. He stands 6’7” and cuts weight to reach the 265 lb limit.

While he got a relatively late start in MMA, Despaigne is an entertaining addition to the UFC Heavyweight division with a high ceiling, even though he is 35 years old.

Keep an eye out for his UFC debut, and check out some more highlights.
