Old Forester’s Birthday Bourbon tradition centers on a single detail: an exact production-year vintage, tied to founder George Garvin Brown’s birthday since 2002. For this year’s release, the distillery partnered with Alpha Industries, the military apparel brand behind the MA-1 bomber and M-65 field jacket since 1959, on a Distiller’s Jacket built from its N-1 deck jacket. Garment-washed brown cotton pairs with a darker corduroy collar, finished with distressed buttons and zippers, a debossed flight ribbon on the sleeve pocket, and a removable sleeve patch, while “OF-1870” is stenciled across the back, a nod to the year Old Forester first opened. This year’s bourbon comes from an 11-year-old, 212-barrel batch selected by Master Distiller Emeritus Chris Morris and Assistant Master Distiller Caleb Trigo, bottled at 97 proof with notes of honey, caramel, tobacco, and cherry.<\/p>\n
