Luis Hernandez kept his momentum going earlier tonight (Sat., Sept. 26, 2026) at UFC Vegas 121 LIVE on Paramount+ from inside Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, as the recent Contender Series<\/em> standout stepped up on short notice<\/strong> to demolish Sedriques Dumas with a guillotine choke finish just 57 seconds into the first round.<\/p>\n This was one of the most intriquing matchups on Saturday\u2019s card for more than one reason. Not only did Hernandez blow the roof off of the Meta Apex<\/strong> with his recent Contender Series<\/em> win, but the Miami police officer was going up against Dumas, who is a convicted felon with a storied past of arrests. It was a classic cop vs. convict matchup and one that everyone wanted to see play out.<\/p>\n Unfortunately for Dumas, the law won again. It took Hernandez just a few seconds to land a clean punch that put him on wobbly legs. Hernandez followed that up with some clinch work along the cage and eventually found a window of opportunity for a standing guillotine choke. He locked it up and cranked until Dumas tapped.
