There is nothing wrong with your television set. Do not attempt to adjust the picture. What you tuned into on Saturday was, in fact, UFC Vegas 121, not an episode of COPS (or The Outer Limits, for that matter). The UFC’s matchmakers just thought it would be fun, apparently, to book the most arrested man in the UFC, Seriques Dumas, against an active duty cop in Luis Hernandez.

To be fair, recent Contender Series winner Hernandez was stepping in to replace Mickey Gall. Still, what amounted to a stunt booking saw the fight bumped up to the main card.

For those unaware, Dumas has been arrested no fewer than 14 times over the past decade or so, including several arrests while part of the UFC roster. While he was reportedly released by the promotion earlier this year, he’s already back, despite a conviction for domestic violence and having taken part in a home invasion (involving a partner) in 2025.

Round 1 – Hernandez wasted no time taking the fight right to Dumas, putting him under pressure and landing a massive left hand before driving him back to the fence.

Hernandez eventually got the fight to the ground and started landing damage, but Dumas managed to work his way back up. It didn’t matter.

Hernandez locked up a standing guillotine, squeezed tight and forced Dumas to tap.

The Miami police officer took the fight on just two days notice and made the most of the opportunity, scoring a massive submission victory.
