There was a heated exchange between Ribovics and Green\u2019s team prior to fight night. Ultimately, Ribovics scored the first-round TKO finish after securing multiple knockdowns.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to media members, Ribovics detailed that the reason he missed weight this past Friday was due to something going awry in his hotel (via MMAFighting).<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cOn Thursday, there\u2019s something that we do, we do everything we could to get to a certain number, just to cut some stuff on Friday, but they turned on the air conditioning while we were just doing it and basically I stopped sweating,\u201d Ribovics said via a Spanish translator. \u201cAt one point, \u2018We have to leave this for tomorrow,\u2019 I stopped sweating because of it, so we got cold and just stopped sweating.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Green said he wishes referee Herb Dean would\u2019ve given him more time to recover, but the result is final. Ribovics now moves on to 17-3 in his pro MMA career. This is also his second straight victory.<\/p>\n<p>Ribovics told reporters that his most recent defeat has opened his eyes, and he feels confident in facing any name the UFC matchmakers throw at him.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI don\u2019t like to call out names,\u201d Ribovics said in Spanish. \u201cI\u2019ll tell you that after that fight against [Mateusz] Gamrot, things clicked in my head, and I just became more professional, improved a lot of things to be ready for whenever and I can tell you I am ready. If called upon, I will face anyone.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>It was a submission due to a triangle choke that Ribovics succumbed to in the aforementioned clash with Gamrot.
