Dana White is once again pushing back on Eddie Hearn\u2019s claims that he\u2019s not a part of the Anthony Joshua vs. Tyson Fury fight.<\/p>\n
White has been insisting for months that he\u2019s the promoter for the event. Hearn has Anthony Joshua\u2019s contract in hand which states White and UFC parent company TKO are not allowed to be. At this point, it seems like White is just relying on Hearn being unwilling to sue him and his Saudi business partners to keep him out of the fight.<\/p>\n
\u201cSounds like he\u2019s got an incredible lawsuit,\u201d White said following Tuesday night\u2019s Contender Series event. \u201cAre you f–king kidding me right now? Did he talk about A.J. and Fury? Okay, that\u2019s all that matters. Who gives a s–t? Have I been wrong in anything that I\u2019ve said? Not yet. Nothing.\u201d<\/p>\n
That\u2019s not exactly correct. White had teased that he knew where Fury vs. Joshua would take place when no one else did. That\u2019s because TKO had arranged to hold the fight in New York City at Madison Square Garden. That deal fell apart, though, because of another clause in Anthony Joshua\u2019s contract that demanded the fight take place in the U.K. \u2014 which is where the fight is now being held.<\/p>\n
Hearn recently said there\u2019d be a meeting in Los Angeles where he\u2019d meet White and potentially work out a deal to include them. White made it clear that this wasn\u2019t necessary.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am producing the fight. I am promoting the fight,\u201d White said. \u201cI will be there at the fight and then I\u2019m flying right back to Vegas for the UFC fight. All of my producers and guys that run production will be flying with me. We already had the meeting. The meeting was yesterday.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s weird if Dana White doesn\u2019t show up to Dana White\u2019s Contender Series on a Tuesday,\u201d White said. \u201cI haven\u2019t missed one in 10 years no matter what. And then I had the [UFC 332] press conference and the fight in Utah.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThe day that we held [the Joshua vs. Fury presser], the reason that day it was held was because that was the day Turki had,\u201d he continued. \u201cTurki wanted to be at the press conference and that was why. There is absolutely zero confusion. Everything that I have said since however long ago I said it is true. Now, he\u2019s open to meeting with me about what? What should we possibly meet about.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is so f–king silly now,\u201d White concluded. \u201cAnd the fact that you guys are even asking me these questions \u2026 Why am I the main topic? AJ and Fury are fighting. Those guys are going to make a f–k ton of money. The fight has finally happened. Everything that I have said about my involvement in the fight has been absolutely true. Anybody want to debate that? Am I wrong?\u201d<\/p>\n
Anyway, Anthony Joshua vs. Tyson Fury goes down on Friday December 11th and airs for free on Netflix. Will it include a long awaited face-off between Dana White and Eddie Hearn? We\u2019ll have to wait and see.<\/p>\n
