Diego Ferreira is looking to put on a war at UFC Vegas 120.
Ferreira is set to take on Billy Quarantillo at lightweight in the co-main event of UFC Vegas 120. It’s a fan-friendly fight, and Ferreira is just excited to get back into the Octagon after nearly a year away.
“I think it is more about getting situated,” Ferreira said on Just Scrap Radio on BJPENN.com. “In my last fight, I was rushing a bit from moving from South Texas to Dallas. After Bobby Green pulled out, I wanted to get back in, and I rushed back in. I was supposed to take more time. I didn’t have the right camp. But this one I feel good. I’m situated in Dallas, got my family moved, and the focus is on training and not the move, which is what I love to do.”
Ferreira is set to take on Quarantillo, who’s set to make his lightweight debut. Given that Quarantillo is moving up in weight, the Brazilian believes his strength and power will be a difference-maker.
However, this is a pivotal fight for both of them, as the loser could be cut, but Ferreira isn’t thinking about that at all.
“Not really. I’m happy where I am and enjoy my career. I don’t have the thoughts that I have to win to save my job. I just go in there and give it my all. It’s my job, but I do it because I love it. I don’t put that weight on my shoulders,” Ferreira said.

Instead, Diego Ferreira is just focusing on beating Billy Quarantillo at UFC Vegas 120. It should be a fan-friendly striking fight, and Ferreira expects it to be a three-round war.
“What I’ve seen from him is that he’s a durable guy,” Ferreira said. “He throws a lot of punches. I see this fight going all three rounds, and I like those types of fights, a war. We both come forward. He won’t be running around; we are going to meet up in the middle and put on a good show for the UFC. … I want a fight; I want to get three rounds. I like to go all three rounds and see how I can perform and adapt to it. I’ll be prepared for everything.”
If Ferreira gets his hand raised, he’d like to fight veterans like King Green or Jim Miller next. But, as the Brazilian closes in on turning 42, he said he’s just taking it one fight at a time.
“I’m taking it one fight at a time. I do love being a fighter. I take it one fight at a time; I think about this fight now. My goal is to get another one this year. I’m 41, but I still have the energy to do many more,” Ferreira concluded.
