Dillon Danis continues to stoke the flames following a wild weekend of fights that was capped off by a shocking loss for Mike Perry.
Danis and Perry were scheduled to collide on Saturday during the Duel Arena 1 card. Danis revealed on social media that an arm injury was to blame for him pulling out of the fight, but Perry had some choice words for the former Bellator fighter. Brandon Jenkins ended up being a late replacement, and he made the most of his opportunity by stopping Perry for the TKO upset in the opening frame.
Danis was quick to hop on his X account to roast what transpired.
“Bum fight,” Danis wrote.
Perry suffered a dislocation during the bout, which led to the finish. If you ask Jenkins, he’s the one who caused the injury with an elbow strike. He shared this belief in a post on his Instagram Stories.
“Everyone wants to talk about the shoulder, but nobody wants to talk about the clean elbow I landed that probably caused the dislocation,” Jenkins said.
Jenkins wouldn’t mind giving Perry a rematch, but he’s also open to fighting a Stockton legend (via Bloody Elbow).
“I want Nate Diaz, but I’ll run it back at 170 pounds if Mike wants,” Jenkins said.
Perry’s immediate focus will be on healing. He appeared to be in significant pain when he suffered the dislocation. It was a disappointing result for “Platinum,” who was coming off an emphatic TKO finish over Nate Diaz on the MVP MMA 1 card, which was headlined by Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano.
How this will impact BKFC’s plan to book Perry against Darren Till remains to be seen. It could boil down to how much of a hit Perry’s stock has taken and how much time he will need to recover.
