Amado Vargas has booked his second bare-knuckle fight, and he will not have to wait long for BKB to call. The son of former world champion Fernando Vargas is set to face Colin Huntington at BKB’s October 23 event in Biloxi, Mississippi. It will be Vargas’ first bare-knuckle appearance in the United States after a London debut that gave fans plenty to talk about. Initially announced by Bloody Elbow.
Amado Vargas’ Bare-Knuckle Return Is Set for October 23 in BKB
Vargas, 26, is 1-0 in BKB after knocking out James Springer in the first round in July. Springer kicked Vargas through the ropes during the bout, Vargas climbed back into the trigon, and the fight ended with Springer on the canvas. Vargas’ brother Fernando Vargas Jr. also won on the London card. Now Vargas gets a new opponent and a new setting.

BKB lists Huntington opposite him in a super-featherweight bout at Bally’s Fightnight by BKB Biloxi, staged at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. Huntington will be making his BKB debut, while Vargas is trying to turn one knockout into a run with the promotion.
“I had a great debut, but I’m not satisfied with just one win,” Vargas said in a statement announcing the fight. “I want to keep building my name in BKB and show people what I’m capable of every time I step into the Trigon.” He added that he is coming to Biloxi for “another big performance” and expects Huntington to learn quickly what the sport involves.
The family name gives the matchup an obvious hook. Vargas’ father held world titles in boxing, while brothers Fernando Jr. and Emiliano have pursued careers in the sport. Amado had already drawn attention outside conventional professional boxing when he beat streamer Deen The Great in a Misfits Boxing fight last December. His July win over Springer put a different kind of clip into circulation. For Vargas, the immediate question is simpler: whether his first US bare-knuckle fight can produce a second win without another trip through the ropes.
