David Winiarski Brings the Tartan to Newcastle for BKB 60 Clash With Geraint Goodridge
David Winiarski is taking the Scottish flag into Newcastle next weekend, with “The Tartan Titan” set to face Geraint “Magic Man” Goodridge in a super middleweight bare-knuckle bout at BKB 60. The fight takes place Saturday, October 10, at Utilita Arena Newcastle, as BKB makes its first visit to the city.
Winiarski vs. Goodridge sits on the main card, Winiarski is a 32-year-old fighter from Kelty, Scotland, standing 6ft 1in. Before finding his lane in bare-knuckle boxing, he built an amateur MMA record of 6-2, then made the move to BKB, where his mix of movement, long straight shots and heavy combinations has made him a familiar face in the super middleweight ranks.

His BKB run has included wins over Simey Doherty, Bogdan Suru and James Connelly, with a loss to Keiron Harding on his record. The Connelly result was Winiarski’s most recent major statement. He stopped the experienced Birmingham fighter by second-round TKO at BKB 54 in Manchester, after dropping him in both rounds and doing enough damage for the contest to be waved off at 2:29 of the second.
That performance did more than add another win. Connelly had entered with 15 bare-knuckle bouts and experience against established names, while Winiarski showed patience after scoring the first knockdown. He kept targeting Connelly with straight punches, hooks and body work, then capitalised as the veteran struggled with damage around his right eye and nose.
The finish gave Winiarski his sixth BKB victory against one defeat at the time of the weigh-in. Winiarski had already earned attention at BKB 49, where he was credited with a Fight of the Night performance before the Connelly matchup. His stoppage of Romanian fighter Suru at BKB 43 also came inside two rounds, and he has regularly carried the Scottish branding into the Trigon ring, complete with tartan attire and the nickname that now follows him on every fight poster.
Goodridge, billed as “Magic Man,” represents a new problem. The pairing is scheduled at super middleweight, meaning Winiarski gets another chance to establish himself near the front of a division packed with fighters who tend to force exchanges early. The Scotsman has shown he can work at range, but his Connelly performance also proved he will step in and trade when an opening appears.
BKB 60 has plenty around it, with Rolando “Dy Incredible” Dy defending the BKB super welterweight title against five-time champion Scott “The Mute” McHugh in the headline bout. Former IBF super featherweight champion Joseph “JoJo” Diaz Jr. also meets Brian Hyslop, while heavyweight Mark O’Neil faces Kamil Sokolowski. Still, Winiarski’s slot offers a clear home-nations hook: Scotland’s Tartan Titan heading south to Newcastle with another chance to make noise.
