A Brazilian “Jaguar” hits the octagon once again this Saturday, as Matheus Camilo returns to take on Jai Herbert at UFC Vegas 122 at the Meta Apex in Las Vegas.
Camilo rides a two-fight win streak into the bout, and is looking to end the fight early after knocking out Nazim Sadykhov back in June.
“He’s a very tough opponent. Very good striking, and I come for violence,” Camilo (11-3) told media outlets this week. “I come for violence, I come for [a] finish.”
Reiterating his respect for Herbert’s striking skills, Camilo later added that “he’s long, he has an advantage on that, but I work a lot for it. And I come to finish him.”
The Sadykhov finish was Camilo’s first in the UFC, and he noted on Wednesday that “that was just a small preview about me. I’m excited to put on more, show who I am every fight. Every fight.” As for his debut loss to Gabe Green, “every loss we can learn a lot, and I learned a lot from that loss against Gabe Green,” stated Camilo. “That’s made me who I am right now.”
