Paulie Malignaggi Picked to Beat Victor Ortiz at BKB 62 By BKB 60 Headliner
Paulie Malignaggi and Victor Ortiz are set to battle in Los Angeles near the end of the calendar year with a BKB champ favouring the former over the latter in that bout. Rolando Dy is the warrior being referenced here and he will defend his BKB super welterweight crown against Scott McHugh at BKB 60 in Newcastle on October 10th.
Paulie Malignaggi and Victor Ortiz will battle in the BKB Mighty Trigon when the two boxing icons battle on December 5th at BKB 62. Malignaggi and Dy also have history with one another as the two waged war for the Police Gazette diamond belt under the BKB banner. Reflecting back on his last fight, which saw Rolando Dy notch his first BKB super welterweight title defense by halting former multi-time gloved boxing champion Paulie Malignaggi, Dy quipped [via Bare Knuckle Bowker],
“Yeah, I mean Paulie is a very, very good boxer. He is a two time world champion, famous boxer and I just proved that bare knuckle boxing is not boxing. On that fight, it’s an honor to fight Paulie. But yeah, also he’s very famous. So when I fought Paulie and I finished Paulie, it made me a little bit more famous than before. So, it’s a blessing that I fought Paulie for my title defense.”
Paulie Malignaggi would beat victor ortiz and robert duran jr., per rolando dy
Prior to Ortiz and Malignaggi’s California contest being made official, when asked about his thoughts on then-rumoured matches with Robert Duran Jr. vs. Victor Ortiz as well as Victor Ortiz vs. Paulie Malignaggi, Dy said [via Bare Knuckle Bowker],
“Duran and Victor would be a good fight. Duran and Paulie may be a good fight. But I think Paulie will beat the two. He’s more experienced in bare-knuckle boxing and very hard to hit. So, I just have the blueprint to beat him because I’m a fighter. But if two will do bare-knuckle boxing and use their boxing skill set, I think Paulie will win against the two. Like Duran or; because I watch the fight of Ortiz in his latest fight in bare-knuckle boxing. I think Paulie will beat him.”
