Spotify has secured a new multiyear agreement with Joe Rogan, keeping licensing rights and advertising sales for The Joe Rogan Experience.
People familiar with the matter say the terms resemble the previous contract, which included an earnout estimated at $250 million.
Rogan said the relationship suits him:
The partnership with Spotify has been an amazing fit, and they’re incredible to work with. I’m extremely happy and excited to continue with them for years to come.
The show’s reach supports the deal.
Edison Research has ranked it No. 1 U.S. podcast every year since 2019, and it counts more than 18 million followers on Spotify and over 21 million on YouTube.
Its weekly U.S. audience reached roughly 28.4 million in the second quarter of 2026, compared with 6.6 million at the start of 2020.
Recent YouTube numbers show a cooler trend: the main channel added 44 million views over the last 30 days and the clips channel added 18 million, a sharp drop from the roughly 60 million the main channel averaged in 2024.
Spotify first signed Rogan in 2020, paying more than $100 million for exclusive rights. It loosened that arrangement in early 2024, renewing the deal while letting the show return to platforms such as YouTube.
Rogan and his team have kept full editorial control throughout, with Spotify staying hands-off on content.
That stance was tested in 2022, when Neil Young pulled his catalog over what he called vaccine misinformation on the show.
Spotify backed Rogan, and Young returned to the platform in 2024.
Spotify, which now counts 300 million premium subscribers, presents the show as a growth driver and says guests gain exposure that sends listeners to their work elsewhere.
Jordan Newman, the company’s head of content partnerships, pointed to the show’s durability:
Joe has built something incredibly enduring, and his show continues to resonate with a massive global audience because there’s simply nothing else like it.
