UFC Vegas 122 featured 12 bouts and nine finishes. The main card was headlined by a ranked middleweight scrap, a grappler vs. striker matchup, as Brendan Allen defended his rank against Christian Leroy Duncan. Three fighters missed weight on this card including one of the main card fighters featured in this article. A couple of fighters with wins busted winning streaks and a couple fighters added to their losing streaks in this edition.
Christian Leroy Duncan
(#5) Brendan Allen secured the rear naked choke to get the finish midway through the fifth round of his battle against (#11) Christian Leroy Duncan in the main event on Saturday. The loss snaps a five-fight win streak for CLD that saw him earning two performance bonuses and beating the likes of Andrey Pulyaev, Eryk Andedrs, Marco Tulio, Roman Dolidze, and former middleweight title challenger, Jared Cannonier. CLD falls to 8-3 with the promotion since 2023.
For Christian’s next bout, he should draw the loser of the Bo Nickal vs. Joe Pyfer fight that was recently announced. That bout is scheduled a little far out at, December 12. Timeline would be okay considering the five-rounder CLD just endured as well as the name value of waiting for the potential matchup.
Pyfer is 7-1 in the UFC since successfully earning his shot with the promotion on his second time on the Contender Series back in 2022. Pyfer is riding a 4-fight win streak over the likes of Marc-Andre Barriault, Kelvin Gastelum, Abus Magomedov, and most recently, former UFC middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya. Bo Nickal is 6-1 in the UFC since losing to a former ONE FC Champion turned UFC Contender, Renier de Ridder in May of 2025. Nickal has stopped Rodolfo Vieira and Kyle Daukaus since that loss. Solid matchup for CLD and would keep him competitive in the rankings too.
Christian’s next fight: (#12) Bo Nickal vs. (#4) Joe Pyfer loser
Matheus Camilo
Jai Herbert logged the unanimous decision victory over spirited Matheus Camilo in the co-main event on Saturday. Camilo, despite his best efforts, is now sitting at a .500 promotional record through four fights.
Camilo’s next fight should be against the loser of Kyle Nelson vis Christian Perez. That fight goes down on October 17 so the timing could work out well. Perez is making his UFC debut after winning his second shot on the Contender Series in August. He’s 15-2 as a pro with one of his losses coming to Manual Sousa in his 2025 Contender Series bout. Nelson is 5-6-1 in the UFC and has faced some real names within the division, Bill Algeo, Steve Garcia, Matt Frevola, and in his last appearance he was finished in 24 seconds by Terance McKinney. High probability for violence with a matchup between any of these fighters.

Ketlen Souza
(#11) Loopy Godinez overcame some adversity to secure the unanimous decision against Ketlen Souza on the main card of UFC Vegas 122. The loss snapped a two-fight win streak (both during 2026) for Souza. And, to add insult to injury, Ketlen missed weight ahead of the bout coming in at 117lbs. Ketlen is now 4-4 with the UFC since being signed in after winning the Invicta FC Flyweight belt in 2023.
A good next opponent for Ketlen Souza would be Julia Polastri. Julia is 3-3 in the UFC and is also a fighter that appeared twice on the Contender Series, winning her contract in 2023. Julia lost a unanimous decision to Loopy Goodinez in March of 2025. Her last bout was in August when she scored a first round head kick finish over Xiong Jingnan. Julia came in over the strawweight limit for that bout, weighing 119lbs. This would be a great matchup considering the circumstances, even though their timelines are a bit staggered.
Ketlen’s next fight: Julia Polastri
Kai Kamaka III
28-fight UFC veteran Andre Fili landed a picture-perfect head kick to fold Kai Kamaka III just seconds into the second round of the pair’s bout on Saturday. The finish also earned Fili a performance bonus. Kamaka is now 2-4 with the UFC through two stints with the promotion. Kamaka went 1-2-1 with the promotion from 2020-2021. Kai returned to Bellator, later the PFL and was resigned to the UFC back in April. He’s now 1-2 during this stint and been finished twice.
Kamaka’s next fight should be against the loser of Daniel Santos vs. Bolaji Oki. That one is booked for the undercard of UFC 333 later this month. Daniel is 4-2 with the UFC since being singed in 2022 and is coming off of a fight of the night winning effort against Doo Ho Choi where he was stopped with a body shot late in the second. That fight snapped a 4-fight win streak for Daniel. Bolaji is a 2023 Contender Series product that is 2-3 with the UFC. He’s lost his last two and was stopped in both against Mason Jones and Manel Sousa. The 30-year-old is dropping to 145lbs, so this is a matchup to keep an eye on.
Kai’s next fight: Daniel Santos vs. Bolaji Oki loser
Malcolm Wellmaker
Otari Tanzilovi head kicked and ground ‘n pounded Malcolm Wellmaker to get the finish and a performance bonus in the opening fight of the main card of UFC Vegas 122. Wellmaker is now on a nightmarish skid, losing three straight, and being finished two times in a row. Wellmaker is now 2-3 with the promotional giant since being signed in 2024 as an undefeated fighter.
Malcolm’s next fight should be against the loser of Timmy Cuamba vs. Louis Jourdain. Timing would be okay for that fight as it’s scheduled for October 17. Wellmaker was finished so he’ll need some time on the recovering, but surely the 32-year-old is antsy to get back to the cage for a chance to return to his winning ways. Timmy is a 2023 Contender Series product who is 2-3 with the promotion. Both of his wins (Roberto Romero and Chang Ho Lee) have since been cut from the promotion. Jourdain, a 2025 Contender Series product will be making his UFC debut against Cuamba. The brother of UFC Vet Charles Jourdain is 9-3 in pro MMA and riding a 4-fight winning streak. Loser of this bout should draw Wellmaker. Timmy is essentially a litmus test for UFC caliber fighters. Jourdain has name value. All three guys have similar pro records.
