After ten wins and years with the UFC, Movsar Evloev finally gets his shot at featherweight gold at UFC 333, where he takes on Alexander Volkanovski.
Evloev’s ten victories inside the octagon have all come by decision, which has led to him being overlooked. Diego Lopes, who lost to Evloev on short notice in his promotional debut, twice faced Volkanovski for gold, leap-frogging the Russian. Yet persistence has paid off for the former M-1 champ.
Volkanovski, at 38, is in the twilight of his career, but still looking for another win or two.
In the co-main event, Petr Yan and Merab Dvalishvili meet in the rubber match of their trilogy, with bantamweight gold once again on the line.
