Jon Jones Shares His Thoughts on Ciryl Gane vs. Josh Hokit at UFC 334
Jon Jones has weighed in on the upcoming UFC 334 heavyweight title fight between Ciryl Gane and Josh Hokit.
Gane, who won the interim title at UFC Freedom 250, was by law supposed to run it back with the now-former undisputed heavyweight titleholder Tom Aspinall to unify the belts. However, Aspinall chose to vacate, as he does not know how long it will take for his eye to heal and for him to receive clearance from the commission to compete. Thus, Gane was promoted to undisputed status.
Now, the Frenchman will make his first title defense at UFC 334 against undefeated contender Josh Hokit.
Recently, Jon Jones, who has shared the octagon with “Bon Gamin,” gave his thoughts on the UFC 334 headliner. Jones, during an interview with The Schmo, said that he would be rooting for both Gane and Hokit, before adding:
I am supporting all the guys… I’d be lying if I didn’t say that the more people Ciryl Gane beats, it really just shows the specialness of our family and our team… So, my prediction is that I believe Hokit very well could win, but I’d be lying if I didn’t say that it doesn’t make our brand look great when Ciryl Gane beats people. So may the best man win.”

Jones says he’s rooting for both fighters but admits that every win Gane picks up only reinforces how special his own team is, considering what they accomplished against him.

Jon Jones may not return to the octagon
Jon Jones is in the testing pool and has been drug-tested a couple of times this year already. Previously, his protege Gable Steveson teased that “Bones” might return.
However, Jones added during the same interview with The Schmo that his 2024 title fight against Stipe Miocic was most likely the final fight of his UFC career, and ‘if he never fights again, he would be pretty happy.’ The former two-division champion also confessed that he regrets not being a part of the once-in-a-lifetime White House card.
“I really do believe that [vs Stipe Miocic]was my last moment inside the cage… There was the White House card. Was one of the few nights in my career where I was thinking I should’ve been there… That was one of my big regrets in life… But if I never fight again, I think I’m pretty damn happy.”
