After a Halloween of horrors that saw Oktagon 96 decimated by injury just a week ago, Oktagon 97 arrived fully intact, its main event bantamweight title fight good to go at the Zag Arena in Hannover, Germany.
That main event found Igor Severino looking to defend his bantamweight championship against the unbeaten Max Holzer. At 12-0, Holzer was both undefeated and fighting at home in Germany.
Once the butt of numerous jokes when he bit an opponent in his one and only UFC fight, Severino has rehabbed his image in Oktagon. His last fight, against fellow UFC ex-pat Zhalgas Zhumagulov, unfortunately ended in a No Contest due to a groin strike, however.
The Oktagon 97 co-headiner found Gjoni Palokaj looking to return from a title fight loss in a scrap with Zafar Mohsen at featherweight.
