Max Holloway has clapped back at Ali Abdelaziz’s bold prediction about Usman Nurmagomedov.
The Dominance MMA CEO recently spoke about one of MMA’s hottest free agents – Nurmagomedov. In a recent appearance on the Pound 4 Pound Show with Kamaru Usman and Henry Cejudo, Abdelaziz claimed that Nurmagomedov would have it easy in the UFC’s lightweight division.

And he name-dropped Holloway among several names, stating that the Russian would ‘absolutely demolish’ him in a potential fight.
The former featherweight champion was asked about the same in his recent Kick stream. Replying to the fan that he was aware of Abdelaziz’s comments, Holloway went on to add:
Ali don’t know sh*t about fighting.

Featherweight great Max Holloway Has Established Himself As a Top lightweight too
Max Holloway is now a top lightweight. The Hawaiian is now ranked #4 in the Meta UFC lightweight rankings after wins over two massive names in the division in the last two years.
Having fought once in the 155lb division back in 2019 (against Dustin Poirier), Holloway has predominantly been a featherweight in the UFC, winning the belt in 2017 and going on to defend it three times.

His permanent switch from the featherweight division was in April 2024, when he took on Justin Gaethje at UFC 300. That impressive last-second KO win catapulted him into the top 10 of the lightweight rankings. Since then, he has 1 win and 1 loss in the division, against Poirier (W) and Charles Oliveira (L), respectively.
Holloway’s recent fight (he won) against Conor McGregor was in the welterweight division – also ‘Blessed”s 170lb debut. Should Usman Nurmagomedov sign with the UFC, a potential fight against Holloway would surely be an intriguing watch.
