New footage of Dustin Poirier’s airport arrest has surfaced, providing a fuller picture of what happened after he was taken into custody.
On June 21st, Poirier was arrested at Atlanta International Airport for public drunkenness after being removed from a flight and causing a disturbance.
Initial footage showed him acting erratically toward gate agents and the responding officer, at one point challenging the officer to fight him before ultimately being arrested without further resistance.
Newly obtained bodycam footage shows the extended arrest sequence, with Poirier repeatedly asking officers to remove his cuffs and fight him “one-on-one”.
In the early stages, Poirier appeared calmer, even telling the arresting officer he’d “done a great job”.
His demeanor shifted as he began referencing past legal trouble:
I’ve done prison time. This sh*t ain’t nothing to me, dog. You know I’ve been in prison? I’m not lying to you!
Second degree assault. It got turned into simple battery. And other sh*t. I’ve done time before. I don’t give a f*ck about this.
An officer then tried steering the conversation toward Poirier’s kids, and he remained calm for a stretch, but grew agitated again once he was being transported to the airport police station:
The officer asked him:
You know people are going to see this, right?
Poirier replied:
Man, f*ck them, too!
F*ck the fans! F*ck you guys…
Listen, let’s rock one. Y’all free me, and we go one-on-one. Let’s go.
Let’s go, one-on-one. Me and you. Let’s go. Let’s see what happens.
